Buckyballs The high powered magnet sets were labeled “Ages 13+” but they don’t meet the mandatory toy standard which requires that such powerful magnets are not sold for children under 14. There were two incidences of children swallowing the balls. Since March 2010, Buckyballs high powered magnets sets were labeled “Keep Away From All Children” and are not being recalled anymore. These balls are safe for adults, however, around children they pose a choking hazard. Of course that doesn’t mean that adults can swallow them.
